About St. Peter Church
St. Peter's was the first Catholic church in LaPorte. Founded in 1853 by Holy Cross fathers ministering to a small group of Catholic settlers, it has grown into a strong and vibrant Catholic community. Springing from the early years as a mission church, St. Peter's is dedicated to serving others in word and action. We know that our history has shaped us and helped us to become people of God.
